Past simple (di'li geçmiş zaman), belirli ve bitmiş bir zamanda gerçekleşmiş olayları anlatır. Bu sayfada düzenli/düzensiz fiilleri, did ile kurulan soru ve olumsuzu ve present perfect ile karışan noktayı çalışırsın.

Bitmiş geçmiş
Past simple, geçmişte belli ve bitmiş bir zamanda olmuş olayları, tamamlanmış eylemleri ve geçmişteki durumları anlatır. Türkçedeki -di'li geçmiş zamana en çok benzeyen İngilizce zaman budur.
Düzenli ve düzensiz fiiller
Düzenli fiiller -ed alır: çoğu fiil doğrudan -ed alır (work → worked, play → played); -e ile bitenler yalnızca -d alır (live → lived); tek ünlü ve tek ünsüzle biten kısa fiillerde son ünsüz ikilenir (stop → stopped, plan → planned); ünsüz + y ile bitenlerde y, -ied olur (study → studied, carry → carried). En sık kullanılan fiillerin çoğu düzensizdir ve tek tek öğrenilmelidir: go → went, have → had, see → saw, buy → bought, take → took, give → gave, come → came.
Olumsuz ve soru
Olumsuz cümlede didn't ve yalın fiil kullanılır: I didn't watch TV last night, She didn't visit Paris. Soruda did öznenin önüne gelir: Did you finish your homework? Where did they go on holiday?
Zaman ifadeleri
Yesterday, last night, last week, three days ago, in 2021 ve when I was young bu zamanla sık kullanılan ifadelerdir.

At A2, the challenge is choosing between similar time frames, pronouns, and quantity patterns.
1. Look for the time clue
Yesterday, now, every day, already, and since often decide the tense.
I watched it yesterday.
2. Choose the pattern first
Pick the whole grammar structure before choosing the final word.
I am going to study.
3. Check word position
Adverbs, objects, and pronouns must sit in natural English order.
I know him well.
Past simple
Use it for finished past events with a closed time frame.

Decision path before answering
Use these checks before choosing between close options.
- 1Mark the subject, main verb, object, and any connector.
- 2Underline the time expression or discourse clue.
- 3Reject any option with the wrong agreement, tense, article, pronoun case, or word order.
- 4Read the whole sentence once more for naturalness and register.

İstisnalar
Be fiili past simple'da tamamen düzensizdir ve did kullanmaz. İki biçimi vardır: I, he, she, it ile was; you, we, they ile were. Olumsuz ve soru doğrudan was ya da were ile kurulur: She was not at home, Were you tired after the journey? Did you be at home? denmez.
