Sıklık ölçeği
Sıklık zarfları bir işin ne kadar sık yapıldığını bir ölçek üzerinde gösterir. En sıktan en seyreğe doğru: always (her zaman), usually ya da normally (genellikle), often (sık sık), sometimes (bazen), rarely ya da seldom (nadiren), hardly ever (neredeyse hiç) ve never (asla, hiç). Türkçede bu zarflar cümlede oldukça serbest dolaşır; İngilizcede ise yerleri belirlidir ve üç kurala uyar.
Ana fiilden önce
(1) Ana fiilden önce: özne + zarf + fiil. I always drink tea in the morning, She often visits her grandmother.
Be'den sonra
(2) Be ana fiil olduğunda be'den sonra: özne + be + zarf. He is always on time, The bus is usually crowded.
Yardımcı fiilden sonra ve soruda
(3) Yardımcı fiil varsa (do, have, can, will) yardımcı fiil ile ana fiil arasında: özne + yardımcı fiil + zarf + fiil. You can always call me, I have never seen the sea, She doesn't often eat meat. Soru cümlesinde de zarf özneden sonra, ana fiilden önce gelir: Do you usually cook at home?

At A2, the challenge is choosing between similar time frames, pronouns, and quantity patterns.
1. Look for the time clue
Yesterday, now, every day, already, and since often decide the tense.
I watched it yesterday.
2. Choose the pattern first
Pick the whole grammar structure before choosing the final word.
I am going to study.
3. Check word position
Adverbs, objects, and pronouns must sit in natural English order.
I know him well.

Use these checks before choosing between close options.
- 1Mark the subject, main verb, object, and any connector.
- 2Underline the time expression or discourse clue.
- 3Reject any option with the wrong agreement, tense, article, pronoun case, or word order.
- 4Read the whole sentence once more for naturalness and register.
Contrasts that often decide the answer
Event or background
Simple forms move events forward; continuous forms show an action in progress.
I left while she was talking.
Fact or stance
Modals, hedges, and reporting structures show how certain or responsible the speaker sounds.
This may indicate a problem.
Clause or compressed phrase
Advanced writing often compresses full clauses into participle, noun, or prepositional phrases.
Having reviewed the data, we revised the plan.

İstisnalar
Sometimes cümlenin başına da gelebilir (Sometimes we go to the beach on Sundays); usually de başta görülebilir. Always ve never ise normalde başa alınmaz; istisnası emir cümleleridir: Always check your answers, Never give up. Never, rarely ve seldom zaten olumsuz anlam taşıdığı için olumsuz fiille kullanılmaz: I never eat meat doğru, I don't never eat meat yanlış.
