Conditional syntax at C1 reaches its highest expressive nuance by blending modalities, varying degrees of likelihood, and implicit hypotheses. Beyond standard hypothetical templates, advanced English routinely eliminates the conditional conjunction if in favor of syntactic inversion: Had it not been for his prompt intervention (unreal past), Were it not for your ongoing support (unreal present), and Should you require any further documentation (open present/future condition). Implied conditionals embed conditions within prepositional phrases or connecting adverbs without an overt conditional clause: Without your guidance, we would never have completed the expedition (= If you had not guided us); The committee voted in favor; otherwise, funding would have been terminated (= if they had not voted in favor). Furthermore, modal verbs within the conditional clause can express willingness, polite requests, or stubborn insistence: If you would take a seat (polite request); If he will keep interrupting, he will be asked to leave (insistence on annoying habit).
