At C2 word order stops being a rule to obey and becomes a tool: what goes first, what goes last and what is left out all carry meaning of their own.

- Fronted negatives and restrictives force inversion: not until the audit did anyone notice.
- Clefts, absolutes and reduced relatives repackage the same content around a different focus.
- End-weight puts the heaviest element last so the sentence stays readable.
Error común que evitar
Inversion after a fronted negative is obligatory, not stylistic. Never before anyone had seen it is wrong however natural the uninverted order feels.
