Ne zaman kullanılır
Present simple, İngilizcenin temel zamanıdır ve üç durumda kullanılır.
(1) Günlük alışkanlıklar ve rutinler: I drink coffee every morning, David walks to work.
(2) Genel doğrular ve bilimsel gerçekler: Water boils at 100 degrees, The sun rises in the east.
(3) Uzun süre değişmeyen durumlar, meslekler ve yaşam koşulları: She lives in Madrid, They work in a hospital. Türkçede bu anlamların bir kısmını geniş zaman (“her sabah kahve içerim”), bir kısmını şimdiki zaman (“Madrid'de yaşıyor”) karşılar; İngilizcede ise hepsi present simple ile söylenir.
Olumlu biçimler
Olumlu cümlede I, you, we, they ile fiilin yalın hali kullanılır (I work in an office), he, she, it ile fiile -s ya da -es eklenir (He works in an office). Yazım kuralları: çoğu fiil -s alır (reads, drives); -ch, -sh, -ss, -x ve -o ile biten fiiller -es alır (watches, washes, fixes, goes, does); ünsüz + y ile bitenlerde y, -ies olur (studies, carries); ünlü + y ile bitenler yalnızca -s alır (plays, buys).
Olumsuz ve soru
Olumsuzda don't ya da doesn't ve yalın fiil kullanılır: We don't eat meat, He doesn't drink tea. Soruda do ya da does başa gelir: Do you live near here? Does she speak French?
Sıklık kelimeleri
Always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every day ve on Mondays bu zamanla sık kullanılır.

How to read this A1 topic
At A1, aim for one clear sentence: subject, verb, agreement, and a simple complement.
1. Find the subject
English normally needs an explicit subject before the verb.
It is cold.
2. Check the verb form
Be, have, and third-person -s carry a lot of early grammar.
She works here.
3. Keep a model sentence
Learn one short pattern and swap the words carefully.
I am a student.
Present simple
Use it for habits, facts, and stable states. Only he, she, and it add -s in affirmative sentences.

Decision path before answering
Use these checks before choosing between close options.
- 1Mark the subject, main verb, object, and any connector.
- 2Underline the time expression or discourse clue.
- 3Reject any option with the wrong agreement, tense, article, pronoun case, or word order.
- 4Read the whole sentence once more for naturalness and register.

İstisnalar
Like, love, want, need, know, understand, remember, believe ve belong gibi durum fiilleri bir eylemi değil bir hali anlatır ve normalde continuous biçimde kullanılmaz. Türkçede “cevabı biliyorum” desek de İngilizcede I know the answer denir, I am knowing the answer denmez. Have fiilinin üçüncü tekil biçimi düzensizdir: he has, she has, it has. İngiliz İngilizcesinde sahiplik için have got da sık kullanılır: She has got two brothers.
