Articles and nouns

İngilizce artikeller (a, an, the) bir ismin çoktan biri mi, dinleyenin tanıyabileceği belirli biri mi, yoksa genel bir kategori mi olduğunu gösterir. Burada a/an, the ve artikelsiz kullanımı çalışırsın.

Hızlı Öğren

Artikeller bir ismin çoktan biri mi, dinleyenin ayırt edebileceği belirli biri mi, yoksa genel bir kategori mi olduğunu gösterir.

Aklında tut

  • a ve an yeni ve sayılabilir bir şeyi tanıtır: I bought a lamp.
  • the zaten ayırt edilebilir bir şeyi işaret eder: the lamp is broken.
  • Genel ifadelerde çoğullar ve sayılamayanlar artikelsizdir: lamps are cheap.

Örnekler

  1. 1I bought a fresh sandwich and an apple for lunch at the bakery.
  2. 2The sandwich was delicious, but the apple was slightly sour.

Kaçınılması Gereken Yaygın Tuzak

a ve the çoğu zaman ikisi de dilbilgisel olarak mümkündür; karar veren, ismin çevresidir. İsim henüz tanıtılmadıysa the genellikle yanlıştır.

Derinlemesine İncele

Kural

  1. Artikel ne söyler

Türkçede artikel yoktur; “bir” sayıyı, bağlam da belirliliği gösterir. İngilizcede ise a, an ve the dinleyiciye genel bir şeyden mi, belli bir şeyden mi söz edildiğini söyler.

  2. A ve an

    (1) A ve an, tekil sayılabilen isimlerle, bir şeyden ilk kez söz ederken ya da bir grubun herhangi bir üyesinden bahsederken kullanılır: I bought a book, She ate an apple. Seçimi yazılış değil ilk ses belirler: ünsüz sesten önce a (a pen, a house, a university, a European city), ünlü sesten önce an (an egg, an umbrella, an hour, an honest person). University “yu” sesiyle, hour ise okunmayan h ile başladığı için bu örnekler öğretici.

  3. The

    (2) The, konuşan ve dinleyen hangi şeyin kastedildiğini bildiğinde kullanılır: daha önce söz edildiyse (I bought a shirt and a hat. The shirt is blue), dünyada tek ise (the sun, the moon) ya da bağlamdan belliyse (the front door).

  4. Artikelsiz genel yargılar

    (3) Genel yargılarda çoğul ve sayılamayan isimler artikelsiz kullanılır: Cats are friendly animals, Milk contains calcium, Music brings joy.

  5. Çoğul yapımı

Çoğul yapımı: çoğu isim -s alır (books), -s, -x, -ch, -sh ile bitenler -es alır (buses, boxes, matches), ünsüz + y ile bitenler -ies olur (cities). Düzensiz çoğullar ezberlenir: child → children, person → people, man → men, woman → women, tooth → teeth.

Görsel rehber

How to read this A1 topic

At A1, aim for one clear sentence: subject, verb, agreement, and a simple complement.

1. Find the subject

English normally needs an explicit subject before the verb.

It is cold.

2. Check the verb form

Be, have, and third-person -s carry a lot of early grammar.

She works here.

3. Keep a model sentence

Learn one short pattern and swap the words carefully.

I am a student.

Articles and quantity

English articles depend on countability, specificity, and whether the listener can identify the noun.

MeaningCount singularCount pluralUncountable
first mentiona booksome bookssome water
known / specificthe bookthe booksthe water
generala tiger / the tigertigerswater
negative quantityno book / not a bookno books / not any booksno water / not any water

Decision path before answering

Use these checks before choosing between close options.

  1. 1Mark the subject, main verb, object, and any connector.
  2. 2Underline the time expression or discourse clue.
  3. 3Reject any option with the wrong agreement, tense, article, pronoun case, or word order.
  4. 4Read the whole sentence once more for naturalness and register.

Örnekler

  1. 1I bought a fresh sandwich and an apple for lunch at the bakery.
  2. 2The sandwich was delicious, but the apple was slightly sour.
  3. 3We visited an interesting art museum in the city center on Friday.
  4. 4The sun rises in the east and sets in the western sky.
  5. 5Can you please close the wooden door near the front entrance?
  6. 6Children need plenty of healthy sleep and nutritious fresh food.
  7. 7She works as a registered nurse in a large downtown hospital.
  8. 8He has an honest face and speaks with a very gentle voice.
  9. 9Music helps many busy people relax after a long working day.
  10. 10Three women and four men waited patiently at the airport gate.

İstisnalar

Ülke, şehir ve sokak adları artikel almaz (Spain, Tokyo, Baker Street), ama çoğul ya da birlik bildiren ülke adları the alır: the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands. Öğünler genel kullanımda artikelsizdir: have breakfast, eat lunch. Bazı kalıplaşmış yer ifadeleri de artikel almaz: at school, at work, at home, in bed, go home.

Sık yapılan hatalar

  • A ile an'ı yazılışa göre seçmek

    Hata

    She attends an university.

    Doğru

    She attends a university.

  • Çoğul isimle a kullanmak

    Hata

    I bought a new shoes.

    Doğru

    I bought new shoes.

A “bir” demektir ve çoğulla gelmez.

  • Genel kavramlarda the kullanmak

    Hata

    The life is wonderful.

    Doğru

    Life is wonderful.

Türkçede artikel olmadığı için öğrenci bazen hiç kullanmaz, bazen de her yere the koyar; genel yargılarda artikel gerekmez.
