Apprentissage rapide
be going to, c'est le futur que tu peux déjà voir venir : une décision déjà prise ou une preuve dans le present qui pointe vers lui.
À retenir
- be going to + verbe à la forme de base : she is going to apply.
- Utilise-le pour des projets et des intentions décidés avant de parler.
- Utilise-le pour des prévisions que le présent appuie : those clouds are going to burst.
Exemples
- 1We are going to spend our summer vacation by the seaside in Greece.
- 2Look at that heavy grey sky! It is definitely going to rain this afternoon.
Piège courant à éviter
will sert aux décisions prises au moment ou l'on parle. Le choix entre les deux depend du moment de la décision, pas de l'éloignement de l'événement.

Plans and evidence
Going to is the primary structure in English used to discuss future intentions, plans, and predictions based on present evidence.
Plans made earlier
(1) Future Intentions and Plans: Used when a decision or plan was made prior to the moment of speaking.
- We are going to move to a new apartment next month
- I am going to study medicine after school
The speaker has already thought about and intended the action.
Predictions you can see
(2) Predictions with Present Evidence: Used when observable, tangible evidence in the immediate environment indicates what will happen next.
- Look at those black clouds! It is going to rain
- Watch out! That unstable vase is going to fall
Form
Structure: Affirmative: Subject + am/is/are + going to + bare base verb.
- She is going to bake a cake
Negative: Subject + am/is/are + not + going to + bare base verb.
- They are not going to attend the party
Questions: Am/Is/Are + Subject + going to + bare base verb?
- Are you going to invite your neighbours?

How to read this A2 topic
At A2, the challenge is choosing between similar time frames, pronouns, and quantity patterns.
1. Look for the time clue

2. Choose the pattern first
Pick the whole grammar structure before choosing the final word.
I am going to study.
3. Check word position
Adverbs, objects, and pronouns must sit in natural English order.
I know him well.

Exceptions
To avoid repetitive phrasing like "I am going to go to the supermarket", native English speakers frequently replace going to go and going to come with the Present Continuous of go or come: "I am going to the supermarket at five o'clock" or "They are coming to our house tonight". Contrast with will: use will for instant, spontaneous decisions made at the moment of speech ("The doorbell is ringing; I will get it"), and going to for pre-planned intentions.
